CURIOUS audiences send postcards opposing the oil refinery— campaign succeeds!

When we debuted our musical in 2016, we invited local environmental organizations to table before and after the show. For kids and adults who left the musical wondering how they can contribute to the fight for clean air-- just like the characters do in the show-- these organizations provided timely resources, petitions, and ways to get involved.
Our audience sent more than 100 postcards opposing the oil refinery expansion at Southport. This campaign (led by Philly Thrive) was a success! Mom’s Clean Air Force reported to us about the surprised look on the face of the head of the Port Authority when they handed him a stack of postcards made by people of all ages during Curious! Although these postcards were just one small part of a broader campaign, we were thrilled to be able to connect our audiences to the concrete steps of learning about an issue, taking collective action, and seeing real results.

Grammy Award Winner Lucy Kalantari writes about how CURIOUS sparks conversations between her and her son Darius: “I had the honor of being one of the voices in this musical about activism and community...This curiously captivating musical has incited many wonderful conversations between Darius and I. Thank you Ants on a Log for your great work and contributions to shape the minds of our future leaders. Stay curious!”
